[Durban, South Africa, 09 March 2026] The Zululand Energy Terminal (ZET) has issued a pre-advice notice to advise of the upcoming launch of the request for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from experienced Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors for the proposed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import terminal to be developed at South Dunes Precinct in the Port of Richards Bay.

The EOI forms the first phase of a structured contractor selection process that will progress through a Request for Information (RFI) and ultimately a Request for Proposal (RFP) to appoint the main EPC contractor(s) responsible for the preparation and execution of the project. The purpose of the EOI process is to gauge the level of interest in the project and assess the general capabilities of potential EPC partners with the technical expertise and experience required to support the development of this strategic energy infrastructure.

Interested EPC contractors are required to submit a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement, available for completion now under the ‘News’ tab, announcements on the ZET website, in order to receive the official EOI documentation and minimum participation requirements which will be shared with all participating EPC contractors following the formal launch of the EOI process. The ZET project represents a key step in supporting South Africa’s evolving energy mix by enabling the importation of LNG and the development of associated gas infrastructure to supply industry and power generation.

Further information on the pre-advice notice and participation process is available on the ZET website at www.zululandenergyterminal.co.za or by contacting Tenders@zlet.co.za.
