The Expression of Interest (EOI) submission period for the Zululand Energy Terminal (ZET) Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) opportunity officially closed on 9 July 2026 at 17h00 SAST.

We sincerely thank all contractors who submitted EOIs and appreciate the strong interest shown by the industry in this strategic infrastructure project.

The evaluation process will now commence, with all submissions assessed against the published minimum requirements.

The EOI represents the first stage of a structured and transparent procurement process, which will progress through a Request for Information (RFI) and ultimately a Request for Proposal (RFP). This phased approach is designed to assess contractor capabilities while promoting fair, competitive and transparent participation.

The EPC programme will support ZET’s localisation and economic development objectives. Contractors participating in subsequent phases will be expected to demonstrate their commitment to local supplier participation, skills development and the utilisation of local labour. Qualifying respondents will be added to the project’s vendor database and may be shortlisted for future procurement stages as potential preferred contractors or subcontractors.
